1 cup butter 2 sticks, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups agave syrup
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet

Cookies made with agave nectar have a more cake-like texture, but with no loss of flavor.

Heat oven to 375°F.

Beat butter, vanilla extract, and agave syrup in a medium size bowl. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Slowly add in flour, baking soda and salt. Continue to beat until fully combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

Using a tablespoon, drop dough onto un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until a light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
